Spring Rolls

The spring roll was very unusual to me. I'd never seen or heard of them before so I was fairly curious as to what would happen. When we were getting everything ready I saw we needed a cup of shredded carrots. All we had were baby carrots, So that kinda sucked and I believe that already shredded carrots wound not be a convenience in that case. The rice paper was completely new to me so I was shocked when it went into the water not sticky at all, and came out completely sticky and clear. I struggled a little bit with getting mine wrapped tight enough, and I accidentally forgot noodles in one of the rolls. But overall these were surprisingly close to a burrito and next time I would love to add chicken and ranch.

The dip for the spring roll was pretty easy to make, but used some not so common ingredients, like fish sauce. The peanuts, as we later found out, needed to be more of a minced then chopped so they were a little big for everything. I, quite frankly, think the sauce sucked. The smell from it was horrible and the taste was just as bad, but I despise vinegar too. At first this didn't bother me as I only took one bite, but at work my stomach went bad and it was hard for me to focus.

Overall I liked the spring roll by itself and I would not recommend the sauce. everyone has different tastes but that is just something I would never recommend.
