I was gone the day that we had made the pies so Riley and I made ours up during storm lunch the next day. We both had smooth sailing with making the pudding for our pies and only had problems when it came to cooking the pudding, and making the meringue. Neither one of us had made meringue before so we were trying to be cautious as we made it, but that was hard since we had to continuously stir our pudding. But, with Mrs. Cummings help we were able to do it and along With Mrs. Cummings help I was able to temper my eggs really well. As I was getting ready to temper my eggs I was struggling to think clearly and almost messed it up a few times. but once I got them tempered it was smooth sailing again.
Making a pie is something that I had done a few times without any problems, so I was looking forward to doing it again since I love pie. What threw me for the biggest loop was making a meringue. I had never made meringue before so I was curious as to how it would turn out.
Once Riley and I got our pies out of the oven we started putting on our meringue. We quickly found out we had more then enough meringue so we ended up eating it out of the bowl once we had both put on all that we wanted for our pies.
Overall this process went pretty well for me except for the problem I had of tempering my eggs, and trying to figure out the meringue. After tasting the pie the only thing I would change about it is the amount of chocolate, it was a little to chocolaty for me. But, besides that, it was fun and delicious to eat.
